In their efforts to revitalize its handset business, Lenovo Group has decided that its Motorola Mobility division will take over the company’s smartphone development as well as manufacturing. This reorganization is due to the company’s hopes to cut costs while enabling the Chinese company to produce better products. Chen Xudong, the head of Lenovo’s mobile business group, has said in an open letter that this move will help provide for better products by taking the best technology and resources from both Lenovo and Motorola Mobility. Rambus Inc. has taken the move to start selling semiconductor chips under its own brand as part of its newly devoted and concentrated effort at reducing the company’s dependence on income from litigation to defend its patents. Adobe Systems has updated its Flash media player to patch a vulnerability that hackers were exploiting after attack code leaked from the devastating Hacking Team breach. Adobe is creating a fix for a critical vulnerability after a team of hackers broke into the surveillance firm Hacking Team’s systems. The vulnerability affecting Flash Player allowed for hackers to hack into servers belonging to Hacking Team which was infiltrated this past weekend.
